Elon Musk lança a xAI, nova empresa focada em inteligência artificial

Elon Musk anunciou nesta quarta-feira (12) o lançamento da xAI, uma nova empresa focada em inteligência artificial (IA). Os detalhes devem ser revelados na próxima sexta-feira, no Twitter, que também pertence a Musk.
O bilionário já é dono da Neuralink, que desenvolve implantes cerebrais, além da SpaceX (de voos espaciais) e da Tesla (montadora de carros elétricos). Ele também fundou a OpenAI, organização de pesquisa em inteligência artificial que criou o ChatGPT, o famoso “robô conversador” que escreve textos, faz contas, etc.
“O objetivo da xAI é compreender a verdadeira natureza do universo”, afirma a startup em seu site, sem dar mais detalhes.
A equipe, “liderada por Elon Musk”, de acordo com a página, é composta por renomados especialistas em inteligência artificial, incluindo alguns da OpenAI, assim como do Google e da Microsoft.
O bilionário explicou no Twitter que a ambição da xAI era “entender a realidade”. A letra “X” já foi usada por Musk para batizar um carro da Tesla, o Model X, e até um de seus filhos, X Æ A-12.

Há vários meses, Musk admitiu ter comprado uma grande quantidade de unidades de processamento gráfico (GPU), essenciais para o desenvolvimento de programas de inteligência artificial, sem revelar o que planejava fazer com elas.
A empresa foi formalmente estabelecida em março, em Nevada (nos Estados Unidos), de acordo com o registro corporativo do estado, mas afirma que sua equipe técnica está sediada na área de São Francisco, na Califórnia (também nos EUA).
No momento de seu registro, Musk era listado como diretor da xAI. No final daquele mês, ele chegou a assinar uma carta, junto com mais de mil executivos e especialistas em tecnologia, pedindo uma pausa de seis meses no treinamento de sistemas de inteligência artificial.
Em uma entrevista em abril ao jornalista Tucker Carlson, na época apresentador da Fox News, Musk disse que planejava “criar uma terceira opção” entre os pesos pesados da IA, além da Microsoft/OpenAI e do Google.
Os dois gigantes tecnológicos desenvolveram as interfaces mais avançadas para a chamada IA generativa (que consegue aprender a padrões de comportamento a partir de uma base de dados).
Segundo o magnata, um modelo de inteligência artificial “que se interessasse pelo universo provavelmente não destruiria a espécie humana, porque somos uma parte interessante do universo. Esperamos que ele pense assim”.

    Paid for the three day offer and with the confirmation of the subscription, got two mails from hornycontacts.com and loveaholics.com asking me to confirm my email. Didn’t pay attention and deleted them.
    I immediately canceled the subscription in flirt.com without any issue and on the last day it changed to a standard membership so since it was bs site, cancelled the account as well.
    So I was happy and watching a movie when I got an sms from my card provider telling me that I got a 71.78 euros charge from fry frtlsp.com. Never heard of them, so I called my card provider and cancelled my card and will request the return of the money as well.
    Then I realized that maybe these two websites also by some miracle signed me up to a paid subscription… so I logged in… had to recover the passwords because they were not the one I used in flirt.com… and surprise, loveaholics.com did signed me up for a paid subscription without me being aware (pretty sure that somewhere during the signing process in flirt there was something checked and didn’t pay attention.). So I had to cancel subscription and account in these two other sites.
    So, sorry for the long post but in summary…. do not use flirt.com at all!!!
    Yes, FLIRT.COM it is a scamming website. It sign you on multiple websites like askme4date.com . It bombard you with emails that you receive messages, and you need to pay to see them. After you pay you see the messages. All messages are from BOTS. No real person.
    It’s subscribing to automatic renewal and it’s hard to cancel renewal. They push you to a complicated scheme. I’m not even sure the renewal canceling works. After
