São Paulo
Um casal que enfrenta brigas e desentendimentos após traições serem descobertas não é exatamente uma inovação na dramaturgia. Mas, quando a trama se desenrola com um crime misterioso ligado a lugares turísticos perigosos, a coisa pode ficar interessante.
É nessa premissa que aposta “Turismo Selvagem” (“Wilderness”, no título original em inglês). A nova série do Prime Video estreia nesta sexta-feira (15) e aborda a conturbada e dependente relação de Liv (Jenna Coleman) e Will (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) após ela descobrir que o marido teve um caso extraconjugal.
Coleman, conhecida por produções como “Doctor Who” e “O Paraíso e a Serpente“, interpreta a jovem que faz da vida do marido uma verdadeira perturbação em meio a uma viagem pelos Estados Unidos. Enquanto tenta uma reconciliação, o casal britânico passa pelo Grand Canyon e pelo parque de Yosemite, entre outros pontos turísticos. E é nesse ambiente propício a acidentes que (sem dar spoilers) algo acontece com Will.
Em uma cena disponibilizada com exclusividade ao F5 (confira abaixo), é possível ver o casal protagonizando uma briga calorosa. Nela, o personagem de Jackson-Cohen (de “O Homem Invisível” e “A Maldição da Mansão Bly“, entre outros) conclui que a viagem pensada como um momento a dois não será suficiente para trazer de volta a harmonia entre eles.
Em entrevista ao F5, a cineasta sul-coreana So Yong Kim, que dirigiu “Turismo Selvagem”, concorda que a produção pode estimular o estereótipo de personagens femininas que buscam vingança, mas diz que, neste caso, as particularidades dos personagens e o enredo vão despertar a empatia do espectador.
“A trama de Liv e Will não é de apenas um lado, o de quem traiu ou foi traído. As histórias e o desenrolar trazem uma dualidade que fica difícil você torcer para um ou para outro. Os personagens são complexos”, afirma.
A série tem como música de abertura “Look What You Made Me Do”, de Taylor Swift, que emula o suspense da trama. “Eu não gosto dos seus joguinhos / O papel que você me fez interpretar / De tola, não, eu não gosto de você / Eu não gosto do seu crime perfeito / Do jeito que você ri quando mente”, diz um dos trechos da canção.
Outro nome no elenco é o de Ashley Benson (“Pretty Little Liars”), que ocupa o lugar da sensual antagonista. A todo momento, ela desperta a desconfiança de Liv, que se questiona se o marido a estaria paquerando cada vez que se encontram.
Por causa da greve que afeta Hollywood, os atores estão impedidos de divulgar as produções de que participam, mas em material de divulgação feito antes do início da paralisação, a protagonista definiu a história como um jogo de gato e rato.
“É um thriller psicológico sobre codependência e liberdade. Vingança e sanidade, ou a falta delas. A história de Liv, uma história de sobrevivência, torna-se uma história muito primitiva, visceral e feminina sobre como se tornar ela mesma”, diz Coleman.
