São Paulo
Cento e sessenta quilômetros por hora. Essa é a velocidade máxima a que chegam os caminhões que disputam competições de Fórmula Truck no Brasil, e foi isso que chamou a atenção de Thiago Martins quando foi convidado para interpretar o protagonista Roger em “Carga Máxima”. Ele ouviu do diretor Tomás Portella que esse seria um filme de ação para “competir com os de lá de fora”.
No longa, Martins interpreta um piloto de Fórmula Truck, cuja equipe vai mal nas pistas. Ainda no início do filme, ele perde uma corrida para a ex-namorada Bárbara, interpretada por Sheron Menezzes, e sofre pela perda do pai. Para sustentar a família, acaba se metendo em um esquema de tráfico de cargas, chefiado por Fumaça (Milhem Cortaz). Pronto, fim dos spoilers.
Usando como inspiração “O Magnata” (2007) de Paulo Vilhena, Martins disse ao F5 que o personagem transita entre “ventania, furacão e calmaria” e “precisa deixar de ser um moleque, para ser um pai de família”. O ator curtiu conhecer esse mundo, até então totalmente nono para ele: “aprender sobre mecânica, dirigir um caminhão com carreta, me aventurar”.
Fumaça é o grande vilão da história, que traz Roger para o mundo paralelo dos caminhões. “Ele veio do tráfico, no Rio de Janeiro, era dono de biqueira, e vem para São Paulo para o roubo de cargas, onde acha que tem muito menos vítimas, menos confronto com a polícia, e se enquadra muito bem”, diz Cortaz.
Mas o ator defende que Fumaça é um cara tranquilo, não se acha vilão: “Ele não machuca ninguém, não faz nada que não seja necessário”. O personagem foge do estereótipo de chefão do tráfico, mas aproveita de todos os confortos de um: “Foi o caminho que ele achou. Ele vive muito bem numa favela em São Paulo. Poderia viver em qualquer lugar, mas se sente protegido e confortável lá”.
As gravações foram feitas entre o Rodoanel de São Paulo, o Autódromo de Interlagos, o Autódromo de Curitiba e estradas de cidades do interior de SP. Os atores, não muito experientes nesse ramo (o máximo que Martins havia feito era dirigir uma Kombi, na qual trabalhava), contaram com o trabalho de dublês de cinema, de pilotos de corrida profissional e de caminhoneiros experientes para dirigirem as verdadeiras máquinas.
Os caminhões também foram adaptados para o que a produção chamou de “trucktana”, um veículo adaptado a partir de uma Dodge Ranger (picape média), desmontada e com cabines de caminhão cenográficas acopladas. Lá, os atores atuam sem que precisem dirigir. Na parte de baixo, outro piloto comanda o caminhão em alta velocidade. “Carga Máxima” estreia na Netflix nesta quarta-feira (27 de setembro) e quer, como seu diretor afirmou, se firmar entre os grandes filmes de ação nacional.
