Rodrigo Santoro empresta voz de galã a tartaruga com transtorno obsessivo: ‘Desafio incrível’

Rodrigo Santoro é um dos atores brasileiros que mais trabalham em Hollywood. Mesmo assim, ele diz que faz questão de honrar as raízes e participar de produções brasileiras sempre que possível.

Nessa seara, a última empreitada é dublando uma tartaruga com transtorno obsessivo-compulsivo na animação “Bizarros Peixes das Fossas Abissais”, que chega aos cinemas no próximo dia 25. “Eu nunca separei a minha carreira internacional da nacional”, diz o ator. “Para mim, a carreira internacional é uma extensão do que eu já havia começado no Brasil.”

O filme narra a história bizarra —como já alerta o nome— de uma mulher com esdrúxulos superpoderes, uma tartaruga transtornada e uma nuvem com incontinência pluviométrica. Os personagens partem em uma jornada até as profundezas do oceano e ganham vida nas vozes de Natália Lage, Santoro e Guilherme Briggs, respectivamente.

Os problemas saúde mental da tartaruga que ele interpreta não são novidade na carreira de Rodrigo Santoro, que já lidou com todo tipo de transtorno na ficção. “A personagem se cobra muito em busca da perfeição estética e sofre com isso. Essa é uma questão que eu já trabalhei algumas vezes, como em ‘Bicho de Sete Cabeças’, em ‘Heleno’ e em ‘Turma da Mônica: Laços’”, lembra.

Marão, criador e diretor da animação, elogia como o ator abordou o personagem. “Ele não trata como se fosse uma voz estilizada para animação”, avalia. “Independente de serem traços desenhados no papel, ele deu essa carga dramática que é honesta, que é sincera.”

Santoro, que já passou longas temporadas em Los Angeles, agora reside no Brasil e faz viagens frequentes para gravar as produções americanas. “Independente da língua falada ou qual que seja o lugar, eu tento me adequar e fazer as escolhas baseadas nos projetos”, diz.

No caso de “Bizarros Peixes das Fossas Abissais”, ele só viu vantagens. “Eu adoro animação. Já trabalhei com a voz algumas vezes e sempre gostei muito. E agora nós temos uma filha de 6 anos [Nina] e o desenho animado é muito presente na minha vida”, conta. “Acho que é um desafio incrível ter que humanizar uma personagem.”

A filha, Nina, e a mulher, a apresentadora Mel Fronckowiak, aliás, são os únicos assuntos pessoais que fazem o ator baixar a guarda. Com presença discreta nas redes sociais, ele prefere não comentar a infame traição de Luana Piovani quando os dois namoraram na juventude —assunto que e que vira e mexe volta à tona quando a ex resolve revelar algum novo detalhe.

“Traí porque me libertei de uma prisão”, disse a atriz em vídeo publicado nas redes sociais no último dia 12. “Sou fiel aos meus princípios e traí porque meu relacionamento estava uma merda”, completou ela. Para Rodrigo Santoro, o silêncio tem sido a melhor resposta.
