Mais conhecido como o Klaus Mikaelson de “The Vampire Diaries” (2009-2017), o ator britânico Joseph Morgan, 42, é a principal novidade da segunda temporada de “Halo“, que estreou em 8 de fevereiro na Paramount+. A série de ficção científica é baseada na franquia homônima de videogames.
Morgan diz que o personagem vai ter atitudes questionáveis e contraditórias ao longo da produção, já que sacrifícios serão feitos —até mesmo de pessoas. “Ele mexe muito com a história”, conta o ator ao F5 sobre o papel do coronel James Ackerson. “No começo, os espectadores podem pensar que é um sujeito ruim, porque ele está disposto a fazer o que for preciso para proteger a Terra.”
O militar bate de frente com o protagonista Master Chief, interpretado por Pablo Schreiber, 45, mas ambos eventualmente precisarão se lembrar que estão do mesmo lado na luta contra uma ameaça extraterrestre. “Vamos ser honestos, os caras realmente maus são os alienígenas”, ameniza Schreiber.
O astro comenta o fato de a história não voltar exatamente do ponto em que a primeira temporada terminou. “Ocorre um salto temporal na segunda temporada, e vai levar um tempo até os fãs descobrirem o que aconteceu depois dos últimos eventos [do 1º ano]”, avisa. “As jornadas do Master Chief pela humanidade, junto com a raiva e as perdas que a guerra traz, é que vão guiar os fãs por esses novos desafios.”
David Wiener, showrunner e produtor executivo, diz que sua ideia para o roteiro foi colocar o espectador como um dos soldados da guerra, para que ele sinta na pele as decisões difíceis que serão tomadas. “Qual é a coisa que vai dar a eles a sobrevivência?”, questiona. “Essa é a pergunta central.”
Wiener conta ainda que as filmagens demoraram certa de 11 meses, com gravações na Islândia, Eslovênia e Itália. “Tudo foi pensado para realmente criar uma história galática, que se passa em diferentes lugares e diferentes planetas para despertar esse sentimento de épico na nossa trama”, afirma.
