Diretor de longas que vão do clássico “Dona Flor e Seus Dois Maridos” (1976) ao humor escrachado de “Crô: O Filme” (2013), além de uma profícua produção de trabalhos de gêneros variados (“O Que é Isso, Companheiro?”, “Flores Raras”, “Bossa Nova”, entre outros), Bruno Barreto agora só quer saber do ex-presidente Michel Temer.
É ele o tema de seu novo filme —ou série, que já está em pré-produção, e cujo formato depende “do quanto render”.
“Na verdade, não é um documentário especificamente sobre o Temer”, afirma Barreto ao F5. “É sobre tudo o que veio depois daquela bomba do dia 17 de maio de 2017”, diz. Foi nesta data que veio à tona uma conversa gravada pelo empresário Joesley Batista com Temer, em que ele relata a compra do silêncio do ex-deputado Eduardo Cunha na prisão, e teria recebido o aval presidencial à operação.
A afirmação foi publicada no final da tarde daquele dia, primeiro creditada ao colunista Lauro Jardim,
de “O Globo”, e depois confirmada pela Folha. Naquele momento, nenhum dos dois jornais tinha tido acesso às gravações.
Elas só foram tornadas públicas no dia seguinte, 18 de maio, quando a Folha publicou reportagem dizendo que o áudio, na verdade, era inconclusivo a respeito da compra do silêncio de Cunha. A Folha publicou uma correção posterior, como prega seu Manual da Redação.
A tese do aval para a compra de silêncio é uma interpretação da Procuradoria-Geral da República, usada para pedir a abertura de inquérito contra Temer. O pedido foi atendido pelo ministro Edson Fachin, mas a defesa do presidente nega a versão do Ministério Público.
“Não houve um complô”, contemporiza Barreto, que morde e assopra com a mesma intensidade. “O que houve foi que a imprensa caiu de pau em cima dele, na ânsia de teoricamente lutar contra a corrupção”.
O filme (ou série) vai se chamar “963 dias” [tempo em que Temer esteve no poder] e conta com a consultoria do colunista da Folha Elio Gaspari. O projeto vem sendo tocado com o apoio de Elcinho Mouco, marqueteiro de Temer.
Ele está auxiliando na produção, “coordenando a relação”, nas palavras de Barreto, que nega ser chapa-branca.
“Sei que o filme vai levar porrada, já dizem que sou de direita. Eu vou é botar os pingos nos is. Não estou defendendo tese nenhuma, não faço arte militante. Mas que o Temer foi um ótimo presidente, que os juros e o desemprego caíram muito e que a reforma da previdência ia ser votada logo, logo, isso não se pode negar”.
