A equipe é formada pelos estudantes Matheus Reno Torres e Arielli Ajudarte da Conceição, do curso de Engenharia de Telecomunicações, sob orientação do professor Evandro César Villas Boas.
🛰️ O CubeSat, como é denominado os pequenos satélites, propõe conectividade via Internet das Coisas (IoT) em áreas remotas. Ou seja, o estudo busca compreender as conexões baseadas em nanossatélites para grandes distâncias territoriais.
“A ideia é ter fazendas para monitoramento do plantio, para medições de temperatura, PH do solo para os agricultores. […] Para proporcionar que o agricultor consiga acessar estes dados, independente se a região onde ele esteja tenha conexão. Com um módulo IoT em uma fazenda, seja ela sem conexão wi-fi ou sinal de celular, é possível captar os dados ao conectar esses módulos inteligentes a um módulo que possui internet”, explicou a pesquisadora, Arielli Ajudarte.
De acordo com os pesquisadores, o CubeSat deverá funcionar como um retransmissor de dados, ou seja, um repetidor de sinal.
“Ele [produtor rural] não precisaria contratar um pacote [de internet] para mandar os dados da colheita dele para nuvem. Então, o Cubesat serviria para fornecer esta conectividade para os módulos que estão no solo, fazendo o sensoriamento. Depois, o Cubesat mandaria para a internet e estes dados chegariam na nuvem”, contou o professor Evandro César Villas Boas.

Além de auxiliar na questão de conectividade, a proposta do satélite criado pelos estudantes do Inatel é ajudar os produtores a melhoraram a produtividade e qualidade de seus produtos.

A OBSAT foi promovida pelo Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovações (MCTI). Cada projeto inscrito na Olimpíada possui uma missão de monitoramento que, além de propor a solução de problemas reais, ainda precisam atender diversos protocolos, a fim de difundir a cultura aeroespacial.
Na categoria “graduação”, quatro equipes foram classificadas para essa 4ª e última disputa, sendo o Inatel a única instituição Mineira do país na competição.
A primeira etapa aconteceu em 2021. Os estudantes apresentaram o planejamento da prova de conceito. Em sequência, entre os anos de 2021 e 2023, construíram o protótipo e lançaram o satélite na estratosfera.
