Encontrado morto aos 48 anos, nesta quarta-feira (27), dentro de um carro, em Seul, o ator Lee Sun-kyun, de Parasita, era casado com uma atriz sul-coreana como ele, que construiu uma carreira de sucesso sem que fizesse planos para isso.
Prestes a completar 48 anos (no próximo dia 1 de janeiro), Jeon Hye-jin entrou para o mundo da atuação depois de aparecer como concorrente no concurso Miss Coreia de 1997. Jeon também era estudante de direção na Universidade Sangmyung, em Seul, mas, em entrevistas, afirmava que não pretendia ser uma artista.
Tudo mudou depois que ela conheceu o diretor da companhia de teatro Chaimu, Yi Sang-woo. Após apresentá-la ao mundo do cinema, Jeon rapidamente conseguiu alguns papéis pequenos em filmes como A Killing Story, em 1998.
Jeon dedicou muito tempo à companhia de teatro da Coreia do Sul e adotou o nome artístico de Jeon Yi-da, participando de várias produções com o grupo, incluindo The Sogue, There, Unification Express e Shape.
A atriz fez sua estreia em dramas de televisão em 2002, quando estrelou Ruler Of Your Own World, e em 2004, conseguiu um papel principal no drama I’m Sorry, I Love You da KBS2, interpretando a irmã de Cha Moo-hyeok (So Ji-sub), Yoon Seo-gyeong.
Videoclipes? Também fez. Ela estrelou como protagonista no clipe de Wonji em 2008, no quinto álbum do astro pop coreano Kim Kwang-jin. Seu talento e carisma a levaram a planos mais altos: em 2015 ela participou do drama histórico The Throne, superprodução sul-coreana e, por sua atuação, ganhou o Blue Dragon Film Award de Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante —os Prêmios Blue Dragon Film não são pouca coisa e destacam a excelência cinematográfica do país.
Jeon também foi indicada para vários outros prêmios, incluindo os da KOFRA Film, promovidos pela Associação Coreana de Críticos de Cinema. Recentemente, ela interpretou Bang Joo-kyung no filme de 2022, Hunt, e assumiu o papel de Kim Eun-mi no programa de TV, Not Others.
Se mantiver sua agenda, em 2024, ela vai interpretar Hee Joo em Mission: Cross e também fará uma aparição na série de drama coreana I Am Home.
O ator de Parasita Lee Sun-kyun e Jeon estavam juntos há sete anos antes de se casarem, em 23 de maio de 2009. O primeiro filho do casal nasceu em novembro de 2009, e o segundo, em 9 de agosto de 2011. As identidades das crianças são mantidas em sigilo.
